Located on a uniquely deep site, this currently under construction home is a rigorous exploration of in-situ concrete and subterranean living.

To navigate the site’s unusual depth, the plan is split into two distinct villas linked by a glass breezeway. At its heart, a lush central courtyard and swimming pool are sunken into the basement level. This strategy allows the sprawling five-bedroom home to present as a modest, single-story pavilion from the street, while flooding the lower levels with natural light and air.

The interior is defined by dramatic spatial volumes. A double-height void features a sculptural concrete spiral staircase descending to a cellar, while an intimate sunken lounge sits beneath a linear, vaulted skylight. This concrete aperture tracks the sun’s path from east to west, utilizing light and shadow to choreograph the mood of the living spaces throughout the day.
